The XRAY, built within Jira and inheriting many of its features, is flexible and allows you to do the same thing differently.
For example, the whole thing of creating a Test Plan as well as Test Execution is possible in a variety of ways (button, context menu, etc.). It is easy to get lost because of this and work inefficiently if not familiar enough with this system. By the way, XRAY documents will not necessarily bring salvation. Maybe all the information is there, not as a flow, but as a collection of possibilities.
Because of the above, I built an instructional video where you can see a way that seems very convenient to me where this process can be accomplished: From tests in the repository to a Test Plan with the relevant Test Executions.
